Dear Mrs. Schilling,
On behalf of the employees and volunteers of the American Cancer Society, I extend to you our deepest sympathies at the death of your husband Larry. He left his mark on your family, on your community and on the men with whom he shared his hobby of fantasy baseball.
These men decided that they wanted to carry on Larry’s fight against pancreatic cancer by contributing to the American Cancer Society in his memory. One of our Relay For Life board members in Kenosha, David Lauer, organized the three leagues Larry participated in, and together they raised $1,220 for research into a cure for pancreatic cancer. In addition, David encouraged every league member to purchase a luminarium in Larry’s memory. These are white paper bags with the cancer victim’s or survivor’s name and a message written on it, and a candle that burns all night inside the bag. The luminaria light the track all night at the Relay For Life events as team members walk in search of a cure for all cancers.
I hope you find some “sunshine” in this wonderful show of love and support from Larry’s friends. It has touched our hearts here at the American Cancer Society.
Sincerely,
Angela Glenn

Angie suggested personalizing it, otherwise I would rather have not had my name mentioned. But I am so proud to just be associated with such a great group of guys!
