In 1989, went on a road trip with three friends. I lived in Toronto from
1980-1992. Initial plan was to go to Cleveland then Detroit then home. We got to Cleveland early (it was an afternoon game) and saw that there was a game in Cincinnati the next night so we drove there after seeing John Farrell's near no-no and saw Juan Samuel hit a leadoff home run for the Phils against Tom Browning and the Reds. While in Cincy for the day, we saw that there was an afternoon game in Milwaukee the next day and a game at old Comiskey the same night so we saw both then went to Detroit the next day and back to Toronto after the game. In four days, we went to Cleveland Municipal, Riverfront, County Stadium, Comiskey, Tiger Stadium and at least one former 20 game winner appeared in every game. We went on a few more road trips after that one but this one is the one that's remembered the most. |
