SPB-100 Draft Filters and Rules Commisioner Chris Williams has devolped the follwing draft filters for the upcoming SPB-100 Draft: During the 1st 8 rounds, each team will select no more than the following: 1 catcher 2 Pitchers (Starters or Relievers) 3 infielders (no more than 1 each 1b, 2b, 3b, or SS) 2 outfielders (but no more than one lf, cf, or rf) During the next 8 rounds, each team will select the following: 1 infielder (either a 1b, 2b, 3b, or ss, whichever position was not selected in Rounds 1-8) 1 backup catcher 1 outfielder (lf, cf, or rf, whichever principal position was not selected in Rds 1-8) 3 (Starters or Relievers) 1 utility infielder (Any IF Position, you must have selected all four primary IF positions before selecting a 5th IF) 1 utility outfielder (Any OF Position, you must have selected all three primaryOF positions before selecting a utility OF) In the remaining rounds (17-26), teams may choose from any of the remaining available players. This will be an email draft and each team will have assigned times to pick each day. The draft order and draft times for the first eight rounds (rounds 1-8, Phase 1) have been posted on the SPB-100 web site under Inaugural Draft Results (There a drop down box that says "Pick a Round." Only dates and times for rounds 1-8 have been announced. Each team will be given a 2-Hour allotment in which to make their pick. The 2-Hour allotments will remain in place for the first Phase (8 Rounds) of the draft. When we begin Phase II, we will move to 1-Hour allotments. Phase 1 of the draft will take about two weeks. For example, if the Elkhart Sentinels draft time is at 8am on 9/18, then Lynn would have until 10am to make his choice. If Lynn does not pick within his time block, his pick is passed and the team at 10am may choose. Lynn may still chime in at anytime to make his pick, but the team that is on the clock has first dibs on the player if there is a conflict. If your pick is passed, the draft will proceed as if you had picked, so if the team after Lynn picks at 10am, the next team at 12pm may pick also, and so-on, and so-on, and so-on...... If the team prior to yours has picked, you may make your pick at anytime, so by using the example above, if Lynn pick at 8am, then the next team can pick immediately. You may not make a pick until the team prior to yours has picked OR their time block has passed and yours has begun. Note: If your team has not picked at the end of the following days picks at 10pm, your team WILL be assigned a player by league officers, so make sure you get those picks in... The bottom line here is to keep things moving. Since you will know your scheduled time to pick, if you know you can’t be available, just send your list to me and Chris Williams and one of us will make sure that your pick gets made. Thanks Chris Williams and Mike See
