SPB-100 Pitching Usage Modifications

1)  ALL pitchers with relief appearances, (no matter what their era) may double their "actual" number of relief appearances.  This is good ONLY for relief appearances and not for starts, and effects only pitchers with an ERA of 3.50 or under.

Example:   Jack Coombs, appearances in 23 games and starts 18 and has an era of 2.50.  Coombs would be able to start 20 games (with his 10%), and his 5 relief appearances would now become 10.  So he could appear in 30 games.

2)  ALL Bonus Pitcher Rules will remain the same, with one change, bonus pitchers now will be allowed to "triple" their number of appearances, instead of double them.  This is good for all of their appearances, starts or relief.

Example:  Pitcher Ed Barry (ERA of 6.00), who has 3 Games and 3 Starts, he would now be able to appear in nine games, starts or relief.

The 10% Rule Remains in effect for starts and no starter may start more than 35 games OR appear in more than 60 games.  Hopefully this will give all of us a little breathing room for appearances, as many teams are already reaching their limit.

Now, as stated above, AB's seem to be up a tad as well.  We are going to keep a close eye on this one, as is has not reached critical status as of yet, but they are up ever so slightly.   If we determine going into the final month that there is an issue, we may re-look at this, but for now, all usage rules for batter will remain in place for the time being.

If you have any question or concerns, please let Chris and I know.

Thanks
