JIM ROOKER ACHIEVES SPB2 IMMORTALITY!

Well, maybe that's stretching it a bit, but the newly-acquired lefty put himself in the SPB2 
record books with a 139-pitch no-hitter against the Fairfax Colts on July 16, 1976.  32 of 
those pitches came in the 7th inning when Rooker struck out the side and walked a batter.  
The Colt hitters fouled off 14 pitches in the 7th alone.

The Lions scored their first run in the 6th with the help of a Rick Rhoden wild pitch that 
set up DH Bernie Carbo's sac fly.  Carbo provided some extra cushion with his first HR of the 
year with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th.  I couldn't make all my patented line-up changes 
for fear of breaking up Rooker's historic gem.

The Colts seem to have a severe case of "Astrodome-itis" as they scored 1 run on 7 hits in 
the opener, no runs on 2 hits in game 2, and no hits in game 3.  (Thought I'd get this sent 
out before Fairfax explodes in game 4!)
