All SPB 1960 Managers, This is a lengthy message with plenty of info, so be sure to read the entire thing. The 1961 expansion draft was held last evening, beginning at 8:45 PM. Our newest SPB II managers set to debut in that season, Steve Lehman and Hugh McElaney gathered with me in the chatroom to conduct this draft which took about 45 minutes. Following are the new team rosters with the players listed in the order they were picked. There were no restrictions on players except that they had to appear on the 1961 Senators and Angels in real life for at least 1 game. Players who were not picked will remain with their 1960 teams, or come in as rookies in 1961 if they qualify for the rookie draft (15 G, 15 AB, 15 IP) Players primary position and 1960 team are also mentioned, with the number of players each team has lost. Steve picked first so his roster is listed first. Seattle Totems (Steve Lehman, Mgr.) Home Park: L. A. Coliseum (Los Angeles) 1. Dean Chance SP Rookie 2. Claude Osteen SP Rivers (1) 3. This not only gives the expansion managers a year to plan their needs and stratagies for 1961, it also gives our veteran managers the same thing, by holding this draft a year in advance of the season they will begin play. Of course, all players currently rostered in SPB 61 will stay with their clubs untill the regular and post season of 1960 is completed. Finally for your info, here are all available players who were not drafted. So they will remain with their current teams, or in the case of rookie who qualify, they will be in the 1961 rookie draft.
