This was the tightest contest of the series, needing extra innings. The Blues struck first in the 2nd
with a 2-run home run by Williams, D. The Muck Dogs answered in the 3rd and tied it in the 5th with a
2-run single from McDougald. Williams, D. broke the tie in the 4th with his second solo home run of
the game, but the Muck Dogs kept pace. The Blues led 4-3 in the 8th until the Muck Dogs tied the game
on an error by Runnels and an RBI single by Thompson, H. The game remained knotted until the bottom of
the 10th. After loading the bases against Consuegra on a single, two intentional walks, and a hit-by-pitch,
Torre drew a decisive walk, forcing home the winning run and giving the Muck Dogs a dramatic 5-4 walk-off victory.

The Muck Dogs seized control early in this contest. Following a walk to Mays in the 1st inning, Maxwell
launched a two-run home run to put the Muck Dogs up 3-0. The Blues responded in the 2nd with an RBI single
from Campanella to cut the deficit to two. The Muck Dogs manufactured a run in the 4th when Spencer doubled
and scored on a fielder's choice, making the score 4-1. Boyer pulled one back for the Blues in the 6th with a
solo home run, but Muck Dogs starter Robin Roberts held the lead through six innings. Relievers Byerly and
Phillips, T. closed the door over the final three frames, preserving the 4-2 victory and giving the Muck Dogs
a 3-0 series lead.

SPB3-1956 World Series GAME 4
The Blues finally broke through with a win fueled by power hitting. In the 3rd inning, after an Adcock single,
the Blues launched consecutive home runs: a 2-run shot by Colavito and a solo shot by Post, building a 3-0 lead.
A Courtney double and a run scored on a sacrifice fly in the 4th made it 4-0. The Muck Dogs' offense was stagnant
until the 6th when a solo home run by Shepard got them on the board. The Muck Dogs rallied hard in the 7th,
scoring two runs on an error and a single by Simpson. However, Adcock answered immediately in the bottom of
the 7th with a solo home run for the Blues. Despite a late rally from the Muck Dogs in the 9th, the Blues'
bullpen held on for the 5-4 victory.

The Blues offense exploded in Game 5 to force a Game 6. After the teams traded runs in the 1st, the
Blues blew the game open with a four-run 2nd inning, fueled by a Muck Dogs error and a two-run single
by Boyer, K. The scoring continued throughout the game: Boyer, K. hit a solo home run in the 5th, and
Wertz smashed a two-run home run in the 7th. The Blues scored in six of eight innings. While Kluszewski
launched a 2-run home run in the 8th for the Muck Dogs, it was too late. Blues starter Nixon pitched a
masterful 8 innings to secure the dominating 10-3 victory, keeping the Blues alive.

The Muck Dogs clinched the series thanks to a series-defining performance by starting pitcher
Don Newcombe, who tossed a spectacular complete-game shutout. The Muck Dogs' offense provided
just enough run support, scoring in the 4th on a run-scoring walk and adding another in the 6th
on a sacrifice fly. Newcombe wasn't just dominant on the mound; he helped his own cause in the 7th
by doubling in an insurance run. The Blues managed six hits but repeatedly failed to capitalize,
leaving eight runners stranded. Newcombe faced only four batters over the minimum from the 7th
inning onward, shutting down the Blues' last chance for a rally and securing the 3-0 victory
and the 4-2 series championship for the Muck Dogs.
