If you are looking to improve your rotation, I can offer Dave LaPoint and his 34 available starts for a #4 and some starts back. Dave Lauer EKLegends =========================================== Canton seeks big time pitching for 1985, and picks. Bonus pitchers for my bonus position guys might work too. Ernie Riles SS has a terrific 448 ab in '85, the first of a solid 8 years as a lefty swinging SS/2B/3B. Larry Sheets 1B-OF his ops+ over the next 3 years is 110/118/143. Good platoon guy in '85-'86, .316 avg, 31 HR, 94 rbi in '87 Jim Wohlford LF-RF 225 bonus at bats then a usable 94 ab's in 1986. Mike Ramsey 2B-SS 115 bonus at bats Tim Corcoran 1B-OF 282 bonus at bats, nice for a bonus guy .323 obp vs RH Roy Johnson CF-RF 105 bonus at bats with a delightful .000 batting average Johnny Rabb LF 102 bonus at bats with the .000 avg Leo Hernandez 1B-LF 121 bonus at bats ======================== I can trade OF'er Terry Whitfield for relief appearances. Wade Lake City Lakers ===================================== The East Kenosha Legends are still offering a couple of very useful players in 1985: OF GARY WARD hits .293 in 1985 in 593 ABs, with 15 HRs and 26 SBs while qualifying at all 3 OF positions. He comes back to hit .316 in 1986 before becoming a PT player through the 1990 season. Asking a #3 plus a player (or another draft choice) C MARK SALAS has his career year in 1985, batting 360 times, and hitting a lusty .307 against RH pitching. The lefty hitter has decent defense and decent power. He becomes a bonus catcher through the 1991 season. Asking a #3 for this one-year wonder. C Dann Bilardello - if you need 202 bonus ABs and some decent defense. Or make an offer on all 3. A #2 plus would get all three. Dave Lauer =============================== In dire need of some pitching appearances? Mud Hens have a package of 3 that can help you stay out of usage trouble...... Len Barker 26 starts and 4 relief Johnny Abrego 5 starts and 1 relief Charlie Mitchell 4 relief appearances we can package them nicely for a late draft pick Rich Mud Hens ================================== Looking for approx. 200 AB’s at both 3B and OF (Usage – not quality) I have excess pitching – both SP and RP I also have approx. 120 catching AB’s (awful stats) Don - NY ============================== Steve Kiefer 3B 166 bonus at bats Tim Corcoran 1B-OF 282 at bats Roy Johnson OF 105 at bats Not cheap but certainly affordable is Larry Sheets. Looking for a good '85 RH RP and a pick. Tom K. ======================================= If you are still in need of a pitcher, Matt Williams (20 Games, 12 starts) can be had for a 5th RDP..... Take Care, Mike See ==================================== RP Luis DeLeon - 32 SPB Appearences in 1985, respectable 4.19 era and solid ratios..... SP/RP - Matt Williams - Because of SPB Rules, gets his 1983 stats and 1985 stats combined. All in all, with bonus, he can appear in 20 games, 12 starts, walk rate is a little high, but other than that not bad for a bonus pitcher. Looking for 1986 draft picks, make an offer..... Take Care, Mike See ===================================== The Zoo Crew have a few extra parts we don't need. 3b/1b Fritz Connally of Lynn Jones ss Tim Foli Make an offer. I don't need much... maybe a few relief appearances to cover the season. Thanks, Joe ===================================== The Legends also are putting C Mark Salas out there for trade. He bats .300 this year with 360 ABs (he hits .307 vs RH pitching!) with 9 HRs. The usual: draft choice/player - make an offer. I'm so difficult to trade with. I will respond quickly to any and all offers. Dave Lauer ========================================= Canton has made 3 trades this week and is interested in a few more. The Moondogs seek... ....excellent RH set up reliever ....RH bat that can play 3B or SS and handle southpaws for 200 ab ....catcher vs. RH ....draft picks On the hot stove are...... Larry Sheets 1B-OF nice LH platoon bat at 1B-RF-LF in '85-'86 then has a monster 1987 season Ernie Riles SS excellent platoon SS vs. RH for the next 7 years, begins plating 3B too in 1987 In addition I'll consider trading Kirk Gibson or Chili Davis for # 1's, a long term catcher, pitching..... ============================================= Here I am again with only a few "spare parts" left. Here's a very valuable spare part for a very cheap price: ALAN BANNISTER: His final year. He hits .262 in 122 ABs and qualifies at 1B, 2B, 3B, LF and RF. VG runner, VG base stealer (8 of 10 steals). Covers you at 5 positions as a backup, decent off the bench or as a PR. A 5th ROUND PICK gets him. ERIC BULLOCK: OF hits .280 in 25 ABs. Nice September call-up, hits .304 against RH pitching. #6 pick. DANN BILARDELLO: Yup a catcher named DANN with TWO "N's". 202 quality bonus ABs as he hit a lusty .167 with a homer. Very good defensively. Has a much stronger year in 1986, hitting .194 with 291 bonus ABs. Hey, ya gotta carry two catchers. At least he can catch and throw out baserunners! #5. Trader Dave Lauer EKLegends =================================== The Rockets have filled their SS void but would like to add another RH OF'er if possible. We would consider trading future draft picks as well as a few of the current players. Those most available in the right deal are Pagliarulo, Kittle and Pettis. Always interested in discussing deals. Thanks, Rick Rossville Rockets ====================================== The Phase II picks took my long/mop-up relivers. Looking for a decent bonus pitcher with 30 or more apps and an ERA under 5 if possible. I have a couple of Infielders, 2B Bryan Litte, 188 Abs, .250-.345-.686 and 2B-OF Jim Pankovits, 172 AB.244-.316-.647. I also have a number of bad hitting C's, including Dann Bilardello (202 poor SBP ABs), Marc Hill (175 very poor SBP Abs) and Steve Nicosio (186 poor SPB Abs) as well as a couple of bum 1B. Also Pete Vuckovich who has 26 bonus starts in 1985. Hope to hear from some of you soon. Terry ========================================== I have Don Mattingly available( before his super 1985 season), I have no need of 1b Ab's back! You have pitching ( primarily starting) and you have a 1986 draft pick. Just daydreaming that there is a potential basis for a trade out there, somewhere? Hmmmmmm??? Maybe you have a Superstar Starting pitcher that could require More than just Mattingly alone, Hmmmm? This obvioulsy would not be a quick one night "tag it and bag it" deal real quick, but would become do-able with some creative thinking. Maybe it could become Galarraga instead of Mattingly because of the pieces not fitting quite right with Mattingly? Hmmmm? The Nukes are thinking this way these days. We are actively examining rosters and the disk to try and find a fit ourselves on our own to offer someone. We offer this e-mail as a general inducement to prod some creative thoughts along these lines, as we work on our own individual offers to be made. In lieu of numerous e-mail responses, please remember the front offices in Oyster Creek operate slowly and rationally. Decisions here are not done "on the fly" hastily. If your front office requires haste on offers----then they probably should not be sent. Trading a STAR, and not a "Joe blow for Tony nobody and my 5th round pick", to this front office, requires thought and time for analysis. Thank you for your time, Sincerely, Oyster Creek Management ====================================== Canton is looking for bullpen help, and a couple of solid RH batting outfielders. Don't fear making a fair offer that addresses these needs. Thanks! Ernie Riles SS good LH hitting SS for the next 6 years Chris Brown 3B excellent hitting 3B the next 2 years, usable bonus guy in '87 Craig Nettles 3B his last great year (.261/.363/.420 in pitcher's park) but a usable bonus guy in '86 Randy Ready OF-2B weird career, good bench guy now, bad bonus guy in '86 then 3 excellent years as a utility man Curt Young P bonus guy begins solid 5 year in '86 with excellent whip in '86-'87 ============================= Lakers are making Franklin Stubbs available for a relief pitcher. Wade Lake City Lakers ========================= The East Kenosha Legends find themselves with a plethora of outfielders. Therefore, we are offering OF GARY WARD for a draft choice and/or a player. If you need a FT OF rated at all 3 positions, come see TRADER DAVE after the Phase 2 finally ends. ============================== The Rockets are still short SS AB's and we would like to pursue a more than stop-gap solution at that position and would not be bashful to trade a wide variety of players in the right deal. Gary Pettis, Mike Pagliarulo, Ron Kittle could be had in the right deal to name a few. As Phase II wraps up, take a look and make some suggestions. Thanks, Rick Rossville Rockets ============================ With absolutely marginal talent to fill any holes you may have in your roster. The usual draft choice and/or player pricing system is still the modus operandi. Our inventory specialist will send out an e-mail after the Phase 2 draft with a sampling of what's on sale. Trader Dave hisself ================================ Knucklehead that I am, couldn't pass up Jack Howell in the draft so now Canton is very much over loaded at 3B. Craig Nettles or Chris Brown can be dealt. '85 is Craig's last good year though he's a usable bonus guy in '86-'87. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/n/nettlgr01.shtml Chris Brown has two very good years 1985-86, then so-so in '87. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/brownch02.shtml Open to suggestions. Could probably use help at RP and a right handed bat in CF. Tom K. ============================== My New York squad will not repeat as a World Series team in 1985. We won’t be playing .500 ball either. The following players might help a contender: Slugging catcher Ozzie Virgil Mike Easler Fred Lynn Pedro Guerrero (with his .999 OPS – 2nd only to George Brett) No one is untouchable. Looking for 1st rounders and players with excellent numbers in 1986. Will also need usage players as well. I would like to add some bonus players to my roster and will make an offer on whomever you don't want to lose for nothing, of players that you may have to cut to get under the "Lauer Rule" of the 38-player maximum roster. Let me know... The e-mail lines are open. Dave Lauer ===================== Last chance to get a couple of worthwhile players.......Carew, Venable, Collins, and Barker........ Rich Muddy Hens ============================== Last chance to get your offer in for Mason. If you need help at the back end of your rotation for 1985 and 1986, Mason is significantly better than anybody available in the rookie draft after Round 2. Looking for a draft pick - the window closes at noon on Monday. For teams looking to bulk up their rotations, please note that Mike Mason is available from the Grays for an appropriate draft pick. Mason can give you 33 passable bonus GS (and 16 G out of the pen) in 1985. He follows this with a solid campaign as a in 1986 (24 GS, 4.33 ERA, 1.41 WHIP), then pitches 50 bonus G in 1987. If you've even casually looked at the upcoming rookie draft, you know there isn't much to be had after Round 2, so consider Mason as you make your pitching plans for the next couple seasons. Hugh ================================ Can trade a first (#7 or #9) or second (#14) for a solid 85 starter. Also have Jeff Robinson (good releiver from 86-89) who is a bonus releiver this year I would trade in a derl for a sP or a good 85 releiver. Don't laugh, but I would be in error if I didn't at least try this. Nuke Mangement doesn't feel any bonafide offer will materialize, but we are throwing this out there anyway just to test the waters.. We realize ACE starting pitching is hard to find, and we would possibly be willing to trade in our round 1 ( #3 overall pick) with Mattingly---IF that Ace could be pried away from a team. Barring a trade----the Nukes will suckingly be the ugliest pitching staff ever amassed anywhere! Yikes! ============================= After falling a little short last year, the Canaries are ready to make another run in 1985. We would like to get a starting pitcher upgrade. Some of you finished a draft yesterday. Hats off to those that did and prepare for the double draft this weekend. Looking for a 5th rounder. 4. P Craig Swan (24 bonus G for your bullpen). Looking for a 5th rounder. 5. Larry Pashnick (14 decent games out of the pen). Looking for a 5th rounder. 6. Greg Bargar (ERA around 8.00, 17 R/9). Looking for a lightly-used pull toy for my dog. Lines are open. Hugh ================== The Rockets are still looking for a closer-type reliever. Always open to discussions. Thanks ===================== Just worked through my batters. I have the following. C - 894 AB's, 1B - 1167 AB's, 2B - 701 AB's, 3B - 600 AB's, SS - 658 AB's, LF - 712 AB's, CF - 718 AB's, RF - 821 AB's. That's all with the bonuses. Not counting Narron (150 AB's)and Parsons (101 AB's). Can I make it through a season??? Still looking to move a 1B if anyone needs one. Now to look at Pitching :) According to my figures, I have a total of 173 Starts and 117 Relief appearances. Anyone wanna help me out with pitching I have extra 1B. Ed ======================== Looking for a crappy reliever with A LOT of appearances that you can afford to move for virtually nothing. Offering an OF with 146 AB’s that is EX/VG/EX in each spot with an AV arm and runs at EX or a late pick next year. Steve ========================= Hey Guys, The Grays have several players available for the right price including: 1. IF Jerry Royster - Gets about 300 bonus AB this years, covering 2B/SS/3B and LF. Much better offensive player, '85-'87, with decent+ defense at same positions. 2. C/RF Charlie Moore - Decent bonus ABs this year, 400+ next year, helpful 200+ AB in '86 and '87 as well. Av+ defense, hits LHP well in '85 and '86. 3. 3B+ Rick Schu - 400+ Ab next year at 3B, hits LHP. Good platoon choice vs. LHP for five years beyond that- also rated at 1B, '87-'90. 4. RPs Carlos Diaz and Bert Roberge - left-hander Diaz can appear in 60 games as a bonus guy, 50 excellent games (2.61 ERA, 10 R/9) in '85. Roberge can make 23 appearances this year, 46 good ones next year (3.44 ERA, 10.9 R/9). We're looking for, in order of preference, (1) right-handed hitting C, middle IF, maybe OF who hit LHP well and hold their own vs. RHP in '84 (200+ AB) and maybe a year or so beyond, (2) quality relief help or decent starting pitchers this year, or (3) draft picks. Need to get C to trade Moore, IF to trade Royster. Lines are open . . . Hugh ========================== Managers, Al Oliver, who hits .301 with 26 doubles in 460 at bats is available for trade. This is his last full time season. I am looking for an equivalent pitcher. Thanks, Jim W. Preble Pelicans ========================= The Missions are looking to add some SP. I don't have much to trade but right now I am on the south side of 100 starts. Marc R ======================== To 1984 Managers, The Zoo Crew have two long-time pitchers up for sale. Mike Morgan, who doesn't pitch in 1984 and has just 2 starts in 1985, goes on to average 21 starts and 10 relief appearances over his 17 remaining seasons. Jeff Rusell, with 33/35 good starts in 1984, and 13/26 poor starts in 1985, becomes a solid reliever from 1986 thru 1996 with an average of 48 appearances per year. We're looking for a 1985 first round pick. If your re-building, this is a good way to start! Joe ======================== Wow! Trader Dave's has already moved 4 pitchers and an outfielder. Here's what's left in inventory: Ed Hodge: 1-year lefty with 50 games (bonus) including 24 bonus starts. 4.77 ERA. Al Jones: another 1-year guy with 24 closer games allowed. 4.37 ERA Duane Walker: rated at all 3 OF positions, hits .292 with 10 HRs, 10 doubles and 3 triples - in only 195 ABs!!! SPC of .528! OBP of .391! You contenders need this guy on your bench. We have a huge stock of 3rd-string catchers on closeout. Uncle Miltie May, Simple Jack Fimple, Luis "Albert" Pujols and even Gilberto "Gil" Reyes with 105 bonus ABs and a .000 BAve! Utility infielders: We have a nice supply, but we can't deal them all. Lenny Faedo and Rene Gonzales play only SS, and they are REAL cheap. Fran Mullins and Bob Bailor - we can only deal one since Derrel Thomas was hijacked during the Phase 2. Tom Brookens will stay. Other possible deals: LF-1B Gerald Perry, 1B-3B Roy Howell and OF Jerry Hairston Sr. Don't lose draft position in 1985 because you overused somebody. Come on down to Trader Dave's where you get service with a smile (really - I always smile as I hit the reply button!) Trader Dave Lauer EKLegends =========================== Not looking to reshape our roster, but do have some players available that might fit that slot in your roster to put you into contention in 84.......... catcher Randy Gomez First baseman Mike Laga Infield Utility Ed Jurak Second Chico Walker Third-utility Dan Rohn Outfielder Max Venable Could be just that little piece of the puzzle you are seeking....... Toledo Mud Hens Rich ======================== Fellow 1984 Comrades, The Nukes are always open to trading, and there is no one on the team untouchable. We have no Ace starter on our pitching staff, and that is our biggest desire. We are always open to creative ideas, including massive deals, if it can better us long or even short term. Our extra players that probably won't see much time, but could be useful to other squads are: Billy Sample----489 Ab's---EX speed and VG steal---plays for a better average next year, but less Ab's Danny Heep----199 Ab's---VG running and VG steal---peaks in 1986- 1B/OF quality backup Rick Leach----- 88Ab's 1984--see Heep above for subsequent years ahead 1B/OF On a lesser note---any of the following won't play much: Rick Monday1b----Wallace Johnson1b----Tommy DunbarOF----Ross JonesSS----Floyd Chiffer-P----Rafael Landestoy--- (Landestoy might see some playing time due to his speed and versatility.) Scott Bradley---is a future player/catcher---available for certain type of offers --he is penciled in(if he escapes phase 2 next year--LOL) as an offensive type platoon at C with Alan Ashby from 86--88. That is all from the Creek, Doc Schweitzer =========================== As the draft is winding down, if anyone needs 3rd base AB’s I have the player for you. German Rivera puts up a .260 / .321 / .357 line in 227 AB’s. However here is the good part, his vs. LH numbers are an outstanding .308 / .382 / .451. He can make a great platoon partner. His defense is AVG with a .937 FPct. This is his only decent season. You could do a lot worse than Rivera. I’d keep him except I already have a 3rd base platoon with Jacoby and Mulliniks. I don’t have many needs but I would like a platoon LH outfielder with good numbers vs. righties or possibly some RH help in the pen. Act quickly and as a bonus I’ll throw in Hedi Vargas. This absolutely useless player in his final season puts up a .256 / .302 / .333 line in 39 AB’s at 1st base. He’ll sit on my reserve list all season after the acquisition of Dave Bergman in Phase 2. He’s yours though for acting quickly. Ron ======================= Ed is absolutely correct. I was hurt that the Oyster Bay Nukes lost 5 before my Legends did. I stock up my roster so I can be the first to lose 5 players to the teams that finished low in the standings in the previous year. Sometimes it's my team that finished low, but it's a matter of pride here that I can help another owner (or owners) enjoy this league a little more. That being said, the Legends roster stands a 49 players. I've got surplus relievers, 3rd-string catchers, and outfielders available. So, the SPB-4 Trader Dave's Online Emporium is back - open for business. After you are finished with the Phase 2 draft, and you still need some relief pitching or backup ABs, c'mon down to Trader Dave's Online Emporium! Dave Lauer ======================= Mike Mason remains available to the highest bidder. An excellent starter/swing man in 1984, he puts in 30 starts in 1985 and another 22 starts in 1986, all in hitter-friendly Texas. I would prefer a 2nd round pick, but offering a 3rd round pick might get me to listen. My inbox is open and I await any offers received before 5:00pm EDT today. Chris =============================== Guys, The Zoo Crew have 15 batters and 4 pitchers slated for the unprotected list... of which 9 batters and all 4 pitchers are usable. I obviously won't lose them all to Phase II, so I'm not in any need of dealing them. Truthfully, I wish I could keep them all because then I have all my minimum games and appearances set for the season LOL. However, if there is a team in need, I can package some of them for draft picks. Hurry up... cut lists are due in about 24 hours! Catchers: Castillo, 141/241 ABs (also plays 3B) Allenson, 83/183 ABs 1B: Perez, 137 ABs 2B: Pryor, 270 ABs (also plays 3b,ss) Mullins, 110/210 ABs (also plays 3b,ss) 3B: Anderson, 374 ABs (also plays ss) Speier, 191/291 ABs (also plays ss) OF: Davis, 116/216 ABs Jones, 103 ABs P: Tunnell, 6/12 starts, 20/40 relief appearances Gaff, 47/52 relief appearances Jones,O, 33/36 relief appearances McGraw, 25/28 relief appearances ======================== Guys, The Nukes would like to add some starting pitching, and/or upgrade starting pitching, and pitching in general. We employ a platoon at 3b with Youngblood and Morrison, and even possibly Floyd Rayford. If your team can part with a full time 3bman , the Nukes could look for a larger deal involving multiple players and /or picks. We were not home this weekend, so this is our first REAL chance to sit down after working today and try to analyze the disk. Sorry if it appears somewhat "late" in the offing. Doc Schweitzer ========================= In addition to the listed players below, the Zoo crew decided to put Willie McGee on the block! We have too many CFs. We're looking for a top-flight starting pitcher to replace this speedy gold-glover! We also have 1B Ken Phelps available. He pounds 24 homeruns in just 290 ABs, with an obp of .278. Looking for quality starts for him. Joe The Zoo Crew have some good relievers available: Donnie Moore. 47 games (52 adjusted), 2.94 era, 1.26 WHIP. He has the excellent 1985 and 1986 seasons as well. Looking for a 3rd round pick for him. Tug McGraw. 25 games (28 adjusted), 3.79 era, 1.21 WHIP in his final season. =========================== The following CR Hired Guns are still available for draft picks: SS/2b/OF - Bill Russell - .267 BA - Part timer that can play multiple positions CF - Omar Moreno - .259 BA - 355 ABs, Speedster w/ 20 Stolen bases OF - Tito Landrum - .272 BA - 173 ABs ====================== Rollie Fingers.....top flight closer for '84 for a 3rd round pick. Mike Brown.....big time power, part time OF, very good for '84-'85...for a late 3rd, early 4th round pick German Rivera.....260/.321/.357 at 3B, 227 ab......for a 4th round pick. Al Williams........22 bonus brand GS......for a 6th round pick. Tom K. Moondogs ========================= The Missions are also willing to deal their first round pick, number 9, for starting pitching. Marc R =================== No one is untouchable. No one has any real talent either. I am looking for player and draft picks. But I really need some players. Marc R ========================== The Zoo Crew have some good relievers available: Donnie Moore. We also have the great Harold Baines available! He's in his 4th of 22 MLB seasons. Looking for a high 1st-round pick, but would consider long-time catcher, 2B or 3B. We could package Baines with McGraw and Kaufman (and maybe even Moore) to a contending team that needs just a bit more help. ======================== Bill Schroeder is available. He slugs .486 with 210 AB’s for 1984. He also hangs around with value through 1989. Obviously I’d take draft picks but I’d also take two Phase 2 candidates that have some value. Ron Fairfax Canaries ========================= I would like to advertise to the League, one more time that OF Mickey Rivers is available for a draft pick from the Prarie Bison. Any offers? Will respond this evening. Please respond to Steve Ehresman if interested. Thanks. =========================== I was going to throw in the towel and focus on the future, but have changed hearts. I just traded Carney Lansford for Mike Witt and I am still looking for another SP. I have a lot of good offense with a future to offer – and I could use a stud OF too. 1-2 year players and either my #1 or #2 are available. As I said – willing to give up players with a future for 1-2 year wonders. I had planned on using Bill Buckner in the OF this season, but while he played in LF, he didn’t play enough per our rules. I have over 1400 AB’s at 1B currently on my roster Bill has 4 seasons left as a starter – including two 100+ RBI seasons. He is solid in 1984, but a total stud in 1985 with 201 hits, 46 doubles, 110 RBI and a .299 BA. Looking for an excellent 1-year 3B or OF. I would also be willing to deal for a early 2nd rounder. Don ========================= The Kansas City Barons have the following available for draft picks. Andy Hawkins - 26 SPB starts, 54 appearances 4.68 ERA Larry Gura - 28 SPB starts , 40 appearances 5.18 ERA Bob Lacey - 37 appearances 3.88 ERA Mike Jorgensen - 1B .250 124 AB's Luis Aguayo - IF .278 72 AB's Randy Johnson - 3B .279 294 AB's Barry Bonnell - OF .264 363 AB's Act quickly as we only have a very limited time to work! Thanks, Mike ===================== The Inmates have recently acquired Dave Parker, Steve Garvey and Lonnie Smith in exchange for Willie Hernandez and Chili Davis. Now have Keith Hernandez AND Steve Garvey for 1B. Looking to move one of them before opening day. Garvey can be had a lot cheaper than Hernandez. Need to bulk up roster so am looking for catching, shortstop and pitching. And of course, draft picks. Thanks, Ed ======================== The Edmonton Magpies are putting pitcher Mike Mason on the block and await the best offer. This could be a valuable starting pitcher for someone for the next 3 years, and is definitely worth the asking price of the highest bidding second round pick. =========================== Rollie Fingers is lights out and yours for a 3rd round pick. Also shopping...,,for a pick Steve Garvey George Hendrick Lonnie Smith Dave Parker Rick Miller Tom K. =========================== Jumping into the “would you like “him” on your team?” world of traders – we play in the shallow end of the pool not like them good swimmers in the deep end. As I filter thru the team, might have some pitching to offer. Ray Fontenot [35 games 24 starts 3.61 era] & Mike Flanagan [34 starts 3.53 era] both lefties Plenty of Phase II fodder on the team, too many too list. Phase II fodder might be accepted if plentiful – picks could be worked. Someone that could stand between 2nd & 3rd a plus. Now back to filtering the team. Steve ====================== The EKLegends are putting stud closer Ernie "Macho" Camacho on the block for a late 3rd round or early 4th round pick. 69 games, 1.200 WHIP. Where you gonna find him in this draft? Quick sale for sure - reply now. Trader Dave Lauer ========================== Guys, The following CR Hired Guns are available for trade or draft picks. For trade could use a comparable Catcher, with some decent ABs 1b/3b - Wayne Gross: 342 ABs, 22 HRs this season. Not a great BA, but has very good power OF - Tito Landrum: 173 ABs, .272 BA, SS Bill Russell: .267 262 ABs.......good backup at 2b/SS and the OF SP John Montefusco: 11 starts, 3.58 ERA RP Warren Brusstar: 41 appearances, 3.11 ERA. Last reallly good season in '84 Bargain basement prices!! Thanks ========================= All 1984 Managers, If your in need of a full time, or part time 1B for the next couple of seasons, I may have your man. Jason Thompson, is a LH hitter with some power, he also has a great OBP over these two years, and plays nearly everyday this year, and maintains a regular job next year. His line for '84 (.254,.357,.389) in 154 games. Next year (.241,.369,.378) in 123 games. Even is better OBP in 1986, when his overall hitting, and power falls way off, he still reaches base though at a .406 clip for 151 SPB AB's in 1986. So if you can use this guy, contact me soon, as I would like to move him off for a decent draft pick in 1984. All offers replied to promptly. Best, Gary ==================== Surfside is thin at 3B, and SS. I would be willing to trade Mike Witt for someone at those positions with comparable years/numbers. Greg ========================== As a new owner of a team in "rebuilding" mode, looking at roster and pittance of draft picks, I think the talents if a Willie Hernandez are wasted on the 1984 Inmates. Fielding all offers. Nobody on team off-limit. A few, like Keith Hernandez and Juan Samuel would be expensive though. Ed Bupp ============================ The Grays are willing to part with OF Jim Eisenreich for the right price to a team with a long-term perspective. Eisenreich has nine solid years as a big-league OF, beginning in 1989, and hits .300+ five times. Looking for a pick in the top part of the second round or a current player with 6-8 comparable years ahead of him. Hugh ======================== Well, as you can see from Gary's last e-mail, the East Kenosha Legends have been busy. What we haven't gotten is some much needed catching. I know that trading is more difficult without the current file, and Gary is working diligently on that file. However, if you know that you'll have a catcher you want to trade, let me know who it is and I'll put together an offer for you to consider. Let me know where your needs are, and I'll formulate my offer to fit your needs. Thanks! Dave Lauer EKLegends ========================== The Barons have some players who are borderline unprotectable in the upcoming draft. I will listen to offers for these gentlemen (the Barons make all their players go to charm school, something I learned from David Lauer). I would prefer draft picks or 2 for one type deals. Barry Bonnell Randy Johnson Rick Manning Andy Hawkins Bob Lacey Ron Reed Mike Jorgensen ============================ Looking for future players. Everyone available for the right price…. Pedro Guerrero Mike Hit Man Easler Fred Lynn Bill Buckner Mickey Hatcher Carney Lansford Floyd Bannister Jose Deleon Don Robinson Gary Lavelle Steve Bedrosian Don Rahn ============================= The Fairfax Canaries are looking for a middle of the order corner outfielder. We would be willing to give up some combo from the following list based on talent. Since there are not any up and comers on the Canaries, I want someone with a few years left. Draft picks including 2-19, 3-8, 3-17. I have an offer for my first pick (1-15) for a very good outfielder so if you are going to ask about that pick, I’d need multiple very good seasons. Catching. Both Bill Schroeder and Mike Fitzgerald are available. Both catchers are entering their second season so they have many years still left. Spare parts: Dusty Baker, Davey Lopes, Tom Brookens, Rich Bordi, Chris Codiroli, etc. Let me know if anyone has an available player. Thanks. Ron ======================= The Prairie Bison of SPB 1984 have three players who may helpful to you: Bobby Meacham, Rudy Law, and Al Bumbry They can be had individually or together for a reasonable draft pick. Prairie needs some workhorse pitchers, especially starters. Prairie is open to almost any kind of deal. Barfield,Boggs, Fernandez, and Herr are untouchable, unless you sell the farm. Thank you, Steve Ehresman ========================== After attempts to improve my team for 1984, I’ve become more realist regarding my chances (under .500 on every sim). I’m looking for future players in exchange for players on my roster. 1st round draft picks in 1984 would be welcome too. No untouchables. Don – New York =================== Canton seek picks for.... Lonnie Smith Dave Parker Steve Garvey George Hendrick Rick Miller Rollie Fingers ============================ Mud Hens are considering moving an outfielder (untouchables are Carter and Gwynn).......draft pick, quality pitching, starting first baseman, or second, or third are all possibilities.... Rich =============================== The Legends of East Kenosha are offering CF Mookie Wilson, RP Ernie "Macho" Camacho, RP Dave Rucker and RP Brent Gaff who all have pretty good 1984 seasons. Looking for a catcher or two and/or draft choices (surprise!) The one, the only, Trader Dave EKLegends ================================ San Diego is looking to pick up a solid LH bat. On the block would be Larry Herndon, Milt Wilcox, George Frazier or if we want to get creative I would consider moving anyone on the roster including Robin Yount. My club has another year of with the possibility of winning the WS so if you have some short term players and are looking for the future maybe we can work a deal. Steve ================================= The Surfside Sharks Have a couple of pitchers to offer up for trade: Bill Gullickson, very good for the next 3 years, and a full time starter for the future. Frank Tanana, full time starter and innings eater for the next 10 years. The Sharks have some obvious holes(Catcher,3B,SS, and OF). I will listen to and reply to any and all offers. Greg(Surfside) =================== Prairie Bison have a couple of infielders available for 1984: Larry Bowa and Bobby Meacham. They might be able to cover your infield needs. Looking for a starting pitcher who can make 60+ starts in 2 seasons. Lesser lights Cesar Cedeno, Mickey Rivers, and Al Bumbry might be able to bolster your bench. Looking for lower draft picks. More expensive Keith Moreland can be discussed. Inquiries answered promptly. Steve Ehresman Prairie Bison 1984
