Carolina Sandlappers vs. Oakwood Owls
SPB Now-2010 Schilling League Division Series GAME 1
Game 1 in Carolina started and ended just like GM Swearingen drew it up in
mid-season. Recently acquired Swisher homered and Billingsley handed the
deep bullpen a solid 4-0 lead, surrendering only one hit thru 6 full. The
bullpen came thru, though struggling in the 7th, and delivered a 4-3 win.
Valverde delivered in the 9th to seal the first game of the series for the
Sandlappers.

Game 2 saw Chris Carpenter continue his torrid hitting for the Sandlappers,
delivering a game tying 3 run homer in the 2nd inning. Unfortunately, he
continued his mediocre pitching, surrendering 6 runs over the first 6
innings, Nelson Cruz delivering the big blow for the Owls with his 3 run
bomb in the 1st. The Owls tacked on 3 more to secure the win for Bumgarner,
who was simply less mediocre than Carpenter
